How about a major transformation for your run-of-the-mill Tuesday? Indeed, for its Fall/Winter 2020-2021 RTW collection, Miu Miu altered the iconic Palais d’Ièna’s architecture, bringing a whole lot of colors, patterns and new styles to its already-perfect set-up. With that in mind, one could only expect a colorful collection and an even brighter set of patterns parading down the runway. And that’s exactly what Miuccia Prada did. She went with the grain of expectation as she unveiled a galore of maxi matelassé dresses made out of jewel-toned silk, topped off with contrasting maxi coats and of course, cinching belts. The collection itself was also reminiscent of fine tailoring as we saw a lot of short blazers looking fabulous with high-slit maxi skirts. There were also taffeta 80s-styled prom dresses with exaggerated volumes and cinched at the waist with colorful ribbons. Voluminous feathered coats were a thing and so were the mighty series of high-slit maxi dresses – all of which were jewel-incrusted, à la Miu Miu.
