As we know, during Ramadan it is respectful to stay away from bright colors. Here are a few ways to help you still look presentable without looking like you have too much make up on.
The best secret to the no makeup makeup is a tinted moisturizer. With a tiny bit of color you can fake an evened-out skin tone. The best-selling one in the world is Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Sand. Use these steps depending on what you really feel you need:
- If you have great skin but really bad under eye circles, skip the tinted moisturizer and use a light under eye concealer instead. I haven't tried this one yet but keep hearing about how great it is Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer.
- Most of us Middle Eastern women were born with great lashes so we could get away with skipping the use of mascara and instead use a lash curler to open up your eyes. A great go-to color for all over eyes is MAC Satin Eyeshadow in Brule. This can be used all over the eye area from the brow bone down to the lash line. Add a tiny bit of your bronzer or any matte darker shade like MAC Satin Eyeshadow in Haux to define your crease.
- I don't know about you but I don't like to leave home without my eyebrows done! The best way to give your face a little lift is drawing in the top of your brows with a pencil – stay away from really dark colors and use an ash brown tone instead. The shade should be about 2 tones lighter than you hair color if you are a brunette. I find that the roll-up kinds are the easiest to use like the Hourglass Cosmetics Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette.
- Use a lip balm to keep your lips hydrated. If you need some color go for a really nude sheer color. A matte color will be make you look like you're wearing lipstick and a gloss will be too sticky and shiny. Marc Jacobs Beauty makes the best sheer nude lip gel New Nudes in Anais.
- Remember that the better you take care of your skin, eat a clean diet and get plenty of rest, the less makeup you will need. Challenge yourself by taking better care of your insides to get yourself to look better with less products on the outside. The most important thing you need to wear is a smile! As Audrey Hepburn once said, “Happy girls are the prettiest."
