What better way to celebrate the fabulousness that is Paris than by paying homage to its little details? Indeed, for CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2020 show, Virginie Viard turned the Grand Palais into that typical view you see from your Parisian window: rooftops with zinc surfaces, walkways, chimney posts and skylights.

With that in mind, the collection was as chic and sophisticated as the House’s timeless codes and values. CHANEL’s moniker tweed pieces were turned into long-sleeved playsuits in a variety of patterns and colors, skirt-suits, and little shift dresses with lightweight coats. You could say it was a typically elegant CHANEL collection, but there was something that made it glamorously different. Maybe it could have been the modern urban outlook that seemed to be emanating from the pieces – think denim jeans and horizontal stripes, the Parisian skyline portrayed amongst various pieces, or maybe it could have been the distinctive ruffles creating a whirlpool of light goodness. Either way, it was certainly a fresh new take on the CHANEL woman.
