“Blossoming Fibers”. That was the name of Tony Ward’s Fall/Winter 2019-2020 Collection and it was indeed a blossoming line of nature-inspired pieces. The primary source of inspiration? Why of course, the first specie to ever exist, the mushroom.

Indeed, the Lebanese designer channeled the infinite shapes of fungi into his creations, bringing forth incredible volumes, 3D printed garments and a plethora of organzas folded in thousands of layers. Everything you can imagine in fungis was reinterpreted into fashion and art, all at once; spongy caps into voluminous shapes, the mycelium structure into fil-coupé and silk embroiders, the forests’ undergrowth into a color palette of white, deep red, walnut and cerulean blue. Deep-V gowns unraveling into ruffled creations and short dresses imitating the charming and flavorful shapes of mushrooms. Exquisite in every way!

The result? The designer transformed an otherwise regular element of nature into pieces of art.
