Every year, Dior captivates us with a new high jewelry collection that captures the house’s most cherished values. However this year, the jewelry world is celebrating a special occasion: 20 years of Dior Joaillerie. Fit for the legendary French house and its extensive history, “Gem Dior” high jewelry collection is the latest marvel by Victoire de Castellane, writing history by being the largest high jewelry collection the house has ever witnessed.
This chromatic fairytale started last month in the heart of Venice through the Tiepolo Ball, in which Dior celebrated the cultures and savoir-faire of France and Italy. This actually takes us back in time to Charles de Beistegui’s legendary “Ball of the Century” at Palazzo Labia, for which Monsieur Dior designed the costumes alongside Salvador Dalí in 1951. Once again, this place opens a new chapter in the history of the house and welcomes the 38 exquisite parures of the new Gem Dior collection.
Presented in a fashion show that exuded elegance and sophistication, the high jewelry pieces were accompanied by 19 exclusive ball gowns created by Maria Grazia Chiuri – making the 20th anniversary of Dior Joaillerie as unique as it could ever be. With no less than 99 pieces that form 38 swooning sets, Gem Dior is the most extensive high jewelry collection presented by Dior to date. Exploring unprecedented harmonies and subtle color gradations, the pieces stand out by the gemstones that look like they randomly settle on the skin – presenting a raw yet studied irregularity that highlights the expertise of Dior in high jewelry-making.
