This year is definitely not an ordinary one. In fact, during the past week, the world has witnessed a one-of-a-kind sparkle that filled us with joy. Yes, the house of Chopard – or the Artisan of Emotions, as it deserves to be called – lit up the Haute Joaillerie world with a new collection entitled “Magical Setting”. Think majestic rings, pendants and earrings radiating thanks to the innovative secret setting that makes the diamonds and colorful precious stones shine like there’s no tomorrow.

Using the classic floral cluster, Caroline Scheufele – co-president and artistic director of Chopard – unleashes stones’ emotional power and unlocks their intense light and lustre. In this dramatic light show, the high jewelry pieces shine through a complete diamond setting or a blend of diamonds and blue sapphires from Sri Lanka, rubies from Mozambique/Madagascar or emeralds from Colombia/Zambia. The classic design is given a bold modern makeover, as each cluster is centred on a significant single stone and encircled throughout with other unusually large stones.

This innovative setting technique is developed by Chopard’s master artisans and finds its inspiration in Caroline Scheufele’s dream of intensifying the light of a gemstone, while giving the jewel more presence and personality. Barely-there claws hold the centre stone in place, while the surrounding ones are magically set, showing no metal from the top or the front of the jewel and making this collection more charming than ever!
