For a designer who has built an empire based on unequivocal taste, finely embroidered gowns and an exception knack for blending occidental vibes with his oriental roots, Elie Saab tremendously succeeded in doing just that for his Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2019 collection.

Bringing that spirit of timeless glamor into his new collection, the Lebanese designer sent out models wearing crepe ensembles and gowns, all of which were delicately upholstered with shimmery sequined motifs. There was something about the asymmetry of the pieces – be it in the pantsuits, the one-shouldered high-slit dresses or the sheer lace gowns – that transcended a whole new vision. Pastel-colored pieces were lavishly embellished with golden or electric motifs and voluminous taffeta gowns took us on a marvelous trip down memory lane – circa 1980’s. One particular mini-dress was dipped into a sea of pink flower appliqués, while another bodysuit was paired with a sequined maxi coat. To top it all off, Cindy Bruna walked out in a shimmery metallic gown that perfectly hugged her body and it was truly a treat for sore eyes. As for the Elie Saab bride, she was a golden goddess transcending from fashion haven.
