How to select the best swimsuit for your body

01 of 02

Updo

This look is probably the easiest since hair is completely out of your face and can be kept in place with many bobby pins and a cult favorite, L’Oreal's Elnett Extra Long Hold Volume. Whether it's a dramatic high bun or a soft low bun, try this hair style out for a test run to make sure it's exactly what you want. An origami style is also a beautiful look which would accentuate the beauty of an open back dress.

Up or down, or maybe half up, whatever you decide to go with, keep your hair texture, length and what your future husband usually prefers in mind!

The weather outside is blistering and the beach is calling: it’s time to grab that bathing suit. Problem is, which one suits you best? You know which swimsuits are trendy this season and have seen models kill the look – but would it flatter your own figure just as much? We all have very different body types, which means that one woman’s perfect match becomes another one’s outright disaster.

To make sure you look your absolute best this summer, here are some tips you shouldn’t miss!

Small breasts
If your breasts are on the smaller side, then we recommend you wear a ruffled or fringed bikini-tube top to add some volume to the area and give the illusion that it is fuller. Another option would be to wear a bandeau that has a huge detail stitched onto it, like an over-sized bow, for instance.

Large breasts
For those curvaceous women who have quite a large cleavage, make sure to get a bikini top that has underwire to properly support your bust. Make sure to avoid bandeau suits at all cost and instead opt for halter-tops.

Love handles
Folded bottoms are a great way to hide that little bit of “extra” we all wish we didn’t have. One-pieces are another great option to conceal those love handles.

Petite derrière
Shop for a ruffled skirted bottom, as it will add volume and give you some booty!

Big derrière
For those women who have a bigger derrière, then opt for black. The dark tint will help downplay your derrière’s size. Wearing cute swim-shorts is another alternative that does the trick.

Bit of a tummy
Ruched one-pieces are a great way to conceal that tiny belly bulge. If you’d like to go for a more playful, pin-up look, then get yourself a dark-tinted 1950’s ensemble with the bottom piece that goes as high as the belly button.

Straight cut
A great way to create the illusion that you have some curves is to go for a one-piece that has side cutouts. This will make your hips stand out.

Curvy
Vertical lines is the way to go if you’ve got something to hide – it will create the illusion that your torso is thinner while elongating your silhouette. We also recommend that you wear a stringy bikini bottom bowed to each side of your hips, as it’ll actually lengthen your legs!

Short legs
Stick to bikinis: it’s the best way to shorten your bust while elongating your legs. Keep away from high-waisted swimsuits though as they actually won’t do you any justice!

Broad shoulders
Thick straight straps are a good way to conceal broad shoulders, as it’ll bring some balance to your figure. Go for a bright-colored bottom with funky motifs to diffuse the attention elsewhere.

Pale skin
Select darker or deep-jeweled colors, like maroon, purple or auburn. Stay away from bright colors, as it might make you look even paler – unless that’s the look you’re going for!

Dark skin
The most flattering colors for those who have a darker skin tone are bright ones – as the contrast works wonders. Do avoid dark colors, as they tend to be rather unflattering.
