“Always dress for an audience. It is the essential part of the performance” a quote from the “Rock and Royalty” Gianni Versace book and the mood for the Fall 2018 collection. When it comes to a performance, there is nothing quite like the spectacle of a Versace show. Donatella Versace managed to excel herself with a collection that took the art of her brother Gianni Versace - think eclectic prints, gold details, stud biker jackets and tartan prints - to a new realm. Add into the mix her ability to call on supermodel Natalia Vodianova, who opened her show in a burgundy leather coat with a jeweled collar, and newbie Kaia Gerber in tartan denim jacket and jeans, and you had all the razzle dazzle of a Versace fashion feast. For evening simply layer a floor sweeping ballgown with a multi-colored Versace print skirt over a “Versace” logo t-shirt, and you have perfection.
