Once again, Cartier earns the title of “Magician of time” – defying its notion and appearances, and relying on the expertise and craftsmanship of the Maison’s artisans to release this year’s share of captivating time-tellers. More than watches, the creations are objects of desire that showcase their beauty through their way of transforming metals and stones, and enhancing watchmaking forms through constant reinvention.
Like a sculpture, the Tressage watch transforms gold, diamonds and stones into a selection of flamboyant creations that are both original and faithful to the Maison’s codes. Following in the footsteps of Cartier’s Maillon, Coussin and Reflection watches, it is as creative as it is precious with its yellow gold and distinctive volumes.
The new Cartier Tank à Guichets watch combines technique and design to offer a digital time display. The Maison’s creative spirit shines once again to offer a different way to read time. Preserving the same appearance as the watch from 1928 with the hour aperture and the winding crown positioned at 12 o’clock and the minute aperture at 6 o’clock, the timepiece is equipped with a specially developed calibre, the 9755 MC hand-wound movement with jumping hours and dragging minutes.
A true jewelry masterpiece, the Panthère watch is dressed with an abstract coat inspired by the animal variations of the panther icon. Somewhere between that of a zebra and a tiger, this graphic composition features motifs in black and golden-brown lacquer, pavé-set diamonds and orange and yellow spessartites – reflecting the precise craftsmanship, particularly for the work on the lacquer and the snowsetting of the dial.
