Chopard Plays a Daring Symphony of Nature, Artistry and Ethical Luxury

The journey of an emerald from an earth treasure to captivating high jewelry pieces…

Chopard introduces its latest high jewelry collection – an extraordinary assemblage of jewels born from a single, awe-inspiring 6,225-carat rough emerald, unearthed in the rich soils of Zambia. This exquisite collection is named Insofu after the gem, which in the local Bemba language means “elephant”, and it’s definitely an exceptional one acquired in 2022 by Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s Co-President and Artistic Director.

In a bold departure from tradition, Chopard embarked on a journey from raw stone to refined brilliance, embracing the fragility and unpredictability of emerald to ensure full traceability – a hallmark of the Maison’s ethical ethos. Over the course of a year, master gem-cutters meticulously transformed the rough stone into 850 carats of vibrant emeralds, giving life to a captivating 15-piece collection.

Infused with Art Deco elegance, natural motifs and the audacious flair of the 1920s, the collection features necklaces, earrings, rings, a bracelet and an exquisite jewelry watch, as each piece celebrates nature’s splendor and human artistry in its very own way. At its heart lies a striking elephant-shaped pendant, a symbol of wisdom and prosperity.

Chopard’s dedication to sustainable luxury shines through its use of the Provenance Proof Emerald Paternity Test for full gemstone traceability, alongside its long-standing commitment to ethical gold. Proceeds from the collection will support Elephant Family, a wildlife conservation charity, forging a meaningful link between the gem’s origins and the preservation of its namesake.

The Insofu Collection is a testament to Chopard’s creative vision, technical excellence and unwavering pursuit of ethical craftsmanship – a bold fusion of nature’s grandeur and haute joaillerie artistry.
