Every year, Ramadan comes with lots of blessings and changes. As we go through a drastic life-changing month, many are the ups and downs to face. However, whether you’re aiming for fitness or spiritual growth, set achievable goals. And most importantly, be patient with yourself and celebrate progress, not perfection. In fact, Ramadan can sometimes be challenging, but maintaining a positive mindset and focusing on the spiritual and physical benefits will help you make the most of this blessed month. In order to make it easier for you, we suggest a few tips you can take into consideration – maybe not for this special month only, but for life in general as well.

- Limit the intake of sugary foods and drinks during non-fasting hours, as they can cause blood sugar spikes and energy crashes after.

- Establish a daily routine, as a consistent schedule helps maintain energy levels and focus throughout the month.

- Balance your food intake on Suhoors and Iftars focusing on proteins as much as possible and trying to take breaks in between, to avoid indigestion and discomfort.

- With limited time to secure your needed water intake, try your best to reach your drinking goal during non-fasting hours, however, not fast and in moderate quantities. Avoiding fried and salty foods might be a big help as well.

- Exercise in the morning to start your day with an energy boost, making sure to choose the right type of sports and leave the heavy workouts for the evenings.

- Stay socially connected by joining family and community gatherings, even virtually if needed. Positive social interactions contribute to emotional well-being.

- If you normally drink caffeinated beverages and couldn’t reduce your intake before Ramdan, try doing it slowly during this Holy Month as caffeine withdrawal can lead to headaches and irritability. The income limitation is recommended to prevent dehydration.

- Incorporate stretching or yoga into your routine to keep your muscles relaxed and improve circulation. A few minutes of stretching is capable of making you feel refreshed.

- Try to get some fresh air, even if it’s only for a short walk after Iftar. It helps with digestion and boosts your mood.

- Take a moment every day to reflect on the blessings you have, which can help with emotional well-being.

At the end of the day, a simple smile can boost your mood and help you stay positive throughout the month – and every other day. Try wearing one more and we promise you, the change will be noticeable!
