Designed by Tiffany & Co. Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille, the 2025 Bird on a Pearl capsule collection draws inspiration from Jean Schlumberger’s iconic Bird on a Rock brooch, celebrating Tiffany’s illustrious heritage with exquisite natural saltwater pearls from the Gulf region. It is a tribute to the timeless beauty of the natural world and honors the rarest materials our planet offers. Expertly handcrafted, each piece represents the pinnacle of Tiffany’s artistry, lifting the spirit of Jean Schlumberger’s visionary designs to new heights. Tiffany & Co. acquired each extraordinary pearl from the private collection of Mr. Hussein Al Fardan, one of the world’s leading authorities on natural saltwater pearls, establishing Tiffany & Co. as the only House with this unique privilege. Mr. Hussein Al Fardan has opened his doors to Tiffany & Co. for the third consecutive year to hand-select some of his favorite pearls for this exclusive collection – noting that his private collection of natural saltwater pearls is the largest from the Gulf region.
Six unique chapters comprise the 2025 Bird on a Pearl collection: Bird on a Pearl, Acorn, Oak Leaf, Cascade, Inverted Petals, and Ribbon. Each chapter offers a new perspective on the emblematic Bird on a Rock, in addition to Jean Schlumberger’s iconic naturalistic themes and motifs. This tertiary expression of the Bird on a Pearl collection celebrates the striking beauty of natural saltwater pearls in new, inventive forms. Some designs feature the bird perched upon baroque or drop pearls, creating a seamless journey between nature and the extraordinary. In others, the bird and pearls are intimately entwined, with the pearls forming the bird’s head or body, creating a mesmerizing fusion of organic elegance and daring artistry. As for the color palette, this collection debuts an array of organic hues, from creamy whites to rich chocolate browns. Artisans set each natural saltwater pearl in a design that celebrates its color and uniqueness, and highlights its beauty, luster and shape. The gradient hues and varied forms of the pearls evoke the delicate transitions of the seasons, from the soft light of spring to the warmth of summer and the subtle tones of autumn.
