The Georges Hobeika Couture Spring-Summer 2025 show was more than a collection reveal, it was a tribute to loved ones in an unprecedented way. The designer’s mother, who passed away in 2024, not only holds a big place in his and his son’s hearts but also, she’s always had a remarkable impact on the House, infusing it with unwavering energy and wisdom passed through the generations – especially that she was the one who taught Georges the art of sewing, fostering in him a deep love for craftsmanship, embroidery, and the pursuit of excellence. Sharing this legacy with his son Jad, father and son decided to honor the woman who was the cornerstone of their family through this collection, which also pays homage to all those who have passed away in 2024 and throughout life, reflecting how death represents a journey, a celebration of those whose exceptional legacy keeps them ever-present in our lives.
Opening with a series of black-dominated looks, the collection had a lot to offer. With blue, green, red, gold, nudes, white, and other vibrant shades gradually joining the show, unparalleled creativity and unique excellence perfectly unraveled. The least we can say is that the wide variety of collars and bust cuts is astonishing, while capes and over-the-head designs add an elegant touch of mystery as the crystals and embroideries make the pieces three-dimensional. And the fact that the looks presented had something to offer for both men and women, took the collection to a whole new level of inventiveness.
