An Eyebrow Talk with Brow Expert Danielle Sfeir

After decades of thin brows, some of us are still on the hunt for the best way to either grow back their brows or find a solution to make them look full in the most natural of ways. It’s surely a delicate process in which the latest technologies serve us well, but the expertise of the brow expert also really matters. In fact, to bring you the latest tips and solutions, Azyaamode had a chitchat with brow and semi-permanent makeup expert Danielle Sfeir.

Let’s start by discussing the best eyebrow cleaning tool. Fond of natural-looking eyebrows, Danielle Sfeir prefers tweezers to clean the brows. This doesn’t mean that wax and threading are more harmful, but tweezers in her opinion make for the perfect tool to clean the unwanted eyebrow hairs while keeping the result as natural as possible.

When it comes to care, Danielle confirms that brows are as needy of love as your skin. Women’s brows are affected by hormonal changes and aging. Therefore, taking care of them and dedicating a routine to keep them as full, fresh and natural as they originally were is essential. In fact, Danielle has underlined the importance of using organic serums that are not based on hormones but rather on natural ingredients such as Vitamin E, and peptides.

Speaking of those who had thin brows and would like to grow them back, she insisted on using organic eyebrow serums and gel mascaras such as the one by Danielle Sfeir herself, which has all that your eyebrows need to stay as healthy as possible during the growth journey. However, the latest technologies have a lot to offer if your journey fails. Insisting on the importance of consulting a true specialist, she explains that the latest brow solution is micro pigmenting which lies in steering away from inserting the pigments in the 3rd layer of the skin but instead in its first layer. This will prevent the block effect that some showcase after a period of getting their eyebrows pigmented. Well, this is why these solutions are called semi-permanent, as she explains that they shouldn’t last you a lifetime just like Botox and fillers, which in turn tend to leave residues in the skin and cause problems later on if not done by an expert.

Finally, in a question about microblading, Danielle Sfeir thinks this technique is aggressive on the skin because it doesn’t allow the technician to control how deep she’s going. This might cause inserting the pigment into the third layer of the skin, which later on can lead the pigment to migrate and change of color due to sun exposure – causing the block effect that none of us is a fan of. So, when done professionally, micro pigmentation lasts to a maximum of one year, fading until it becomes of a barely-seen greige color as she mentions – and that’s when a refresh is needed.

Giving hope to the women who already have tattooed brows and need a makeover, Danielle cites laser tattoo removal as a solution for starting anew with new brows and of course, more self-confidence!
