Smelling a fragrance can evoke memories and feelings, and a beautiful scent can never fail to make us feel happy or nostalgic. It is in fact an element of the beauty world that connects our senses to our mind and soul. However this time around, we are not revealing the new launches in the world of perfumery; but instead, we are dedicating this article to dive into its rich history.

Ancient Egyptians were responsible for the creation of perfume and used scents in everything, from religious ceremonies to daily wear. The rich elites of Egyptian society – men and women alike – used to wear aromas like lily in order to denote their status. The Persians had another interpretation of fragrances, as they used them as an indication of their political status – but it wasn’t until Greeks and Romans became acquainted with it that it began to be considered as an art and started to be produced in massive quantities, with a keen eye on its consistent quality.

In 1190, perfumes started to be produced commercially in Paris – making the French capital the place where fragrances blossomed into a massive industry in the modern world. Since then, the world of perfume started evolving ceaselessly, resulting in the creation of the Eau de Parfum, the cologne and recently, the body mists.

Isn’t it an interesting story?
