Wondering what to wear to work? And more importantly, are you looking for inspiration for jewels you’ll actually want to wear? Here are some elegant piece ideas to coordinate with your work wardrobe.

If you’d like to move beyond the very simplistic round studs and tennis bracelet styles, we could suggest some lovely designs that would work well from 9-5 and beyond. Whether you want to dress up your wrist while wearing a sleeveless dress or cap sleeves, or pretty earrings or statement cuffs for dinner after work, we have shortlisted options that range from slim bangles with gemstone accents that you can stack up, should you wish, pinky rings, pendants and slender bracelets with small motifs.

Clean and simple shapes are easy to wear with any look, observes Deborah Pagani, New York-based fine jewelry designer. “The Open Pill Ring is comfortable and sleek, and it’s streamline design takes on another version of my classic pill. The addition of baguettes adds the perfect amount of sparkle for the workplace. The ring fits closely to the finger, and will not distract from typing emails or meeting with clients. The Pill Pendant is the most versatile and is able to change into a choker for a completely different look. Whether it’s beautifully framed with a classic Saint Laurent blazer, your favorite t-shirt, or a basic knit you do not have to worry about clashing colors and styles,” says Deborah.

While choosing your jewelry, take stock of the color, print, style, sleeve length, and neckline of the dress, shirt/blouse.

Quick tips: Your jewelry should be subtle if your dress has all-over prints. For long sleeved dresses, avoid stacking up bangles and bracelets.
