In a set of events held in Dubai, Baume & Mercier debuted the Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963, after an international launch in April consisting of Europe’s first Shelby Only car gathering that took place in France. True to Baume & Mercier’s slogan, the events were filled with special moments.

The two-day Dubai launch was held at the Zebra Square Gallery and divided into two phases. While one session was dedicated for select media, three others were attended by Baume & Mercier’s clients. Upon their arrival, guests enjoyed the opportunity to get some photos with a customized Cobra car. The four new limited-edition “Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 “Legendary Drivers Edition” – from which only 15 pieces are available worldwide – were on display.

These timepieces supplied with chronographs continue the legend of the iconic Cobra car. Designed for people who appreciate endurance and risk, they embody the Cobra’s character and force cherished by Caroll Shelby. The polished steel or steel-ADLC case is supplied with rubber or alligator straps and the watch sees a color combination of black, yellow and white, as well as the name of the driver it represents engraved.

The event started off with an exciting watchmaking class with expert watchmaker Vincent Robert from the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. The guests were then invited to test their driving skills and take part in a fun race using miniature Cobra cars under the monitoring of international race driver Jordan Grogor, who also shared his experiences and career in racing. The race was followed with a lunch, after which guests left with certificates, gift bags and memories that matter to both automobile and watch enthusiasts.
