Black is a happy color, and tonight, Zuhair Murad proved it ever so eloquently, as he showcased his Couture Fall/Winter 2016-2017 collection.

Picture lace gowns gently grazing the models’ figures, fitting them like a pair of shiny gloves. Dresses were inflated with intricate lacing and fine embroidery, while others were slightly masked by a black velvet cape. Ruffles seemed to be balanced out by a thunder-grazing belt, firmly resting in the middle. And suddenly, the mood shifted to a lighter tone, putting into sight a slew of models floating into the runway like flawless angels. The Lebanese designer had so many looks that cried “Zuhair Murad” but it just seemed like the color palette was getting lighter and lighter and models were shining brighter and brighter. Along came the high low hem dress, elegantly paired with over-the-knees boots, while hats seemed to be making quite a case. But perhaps the one outfit that proved the designer’s power as a fashion guru was the bridal gown with the perfect champagne color that made for an exquisite touch.

The combination of fine fabrics and Zuhair Murad’s own personal flair made for an astounding collection, one that finds it’s footing in perfecting the female form. In a word, it was flawless.
