On a lovely Tuesday afternoon, Paris revealed its love for eccentric fashion and of course, for Viktor & Rolf.  The power duo, also known as Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, were never really strangers to artsy collections. After all, what’s a fashion line without exotic designs?

But this time around, it was all a matter of colors, volumes and black hats.

Aesthetically speaking, it was a feast for the eyes! The Couture Fall/Winter 2016-2017 could only be described as an explosion of colors and fabrics, luxuriously melting into one single outfit. Think The Mad Hatter in the body of Harlequin- and vice versa. Oversized ruffles lavishly enveloped the bodies of the models and gently rested on a bed of embellished jeans. A burst of funfetti found its way to velvet garments, adding yet another layer of “daring” to the silhouettes. Models walked in black derbies, calmly balancing out the ever-so wild atmosphere. A more striking vision asserted itself through the dashing mix of colors, which escalated from champagne hues, to khaki, blue, bordeau, fuchsia and yellow tones. Black rubans were dangling and sequins were shining, but all eyes were on the recurrent voluptuous pattern that was sifting through the crown in the most sophisticated kind of ways.

Meant to intrigue and fascinate, Viktor & Rolf was never quite your average luxury brand. It was always considered as a mighty trigger. A trigger excessively needed so as to let oneself go into a wild frenzy. And boy, did it work!
