They say great minds think alike. And this is exactly the case for the two Bahraini artists Amina Al Abbasi and Amal Al Mulla, who have intertwined their love for fashion and art, creating a fashionable masterpiece of both beadings and embroideries.
With the two virtuosos, no detail has been left to chance, from the top-notch material to the finest sewing. The verdict was like no other: turning bits and pieces of tradition into nods and echoes.

The pioneering collaboration craves and thrives on the past and the present, the old and the new, ushering in a line-up of Kaftans and Abayas, worthy of a woman’s shining individuality, from her complexity to her innermost strength. The idea of old and new has been triggering designers for a long time now, but it was all a matter of time until art works and fashion attires blended together ever so modestly.
A touch of straight cuts against airy silhouettes from here and a dab of sheer Organza, light crepes and linens from there; and there it was, a picture perfect collection dipped in the elegance of ties, pearls and knots, where colors skewed from neutral and soft tones to off whites, light grays and darker shades of navy blue. The crowning touch? The use of one of the oldest Bahraini embroidery, Al Naqda, adding more zest to the official refrain of tradition.
