Passion Comes Alive with the Cartier Foundation

To support the arts, Cartier made a pioneering move on October 20, 1984 by inaugurating the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Jouy-en-Josas near Versailles. Ten years later, and specifically in May 1994, the Fondation Cartier made from Paris its territory of exploration and dived into the architecture of glass and steel created by Jean Nouvel. In this headquarter, exhibitions, conferences and artistic productions were held and revealed.

Remaining true to its values, the Fondation Cartier continues to promote the discovery of young artists and the mysterious side of famed artistic talents after thirty years from its foundation. Its mission remains to dive into all creative fields and types of contemporary art, from design to photography, painting, video, fashion and performance art.

With the will to render contemporary art more accessible, the Fondation Cartier also proves its commitment, skill and eclecticism to the international artistic scene and to the public.
