Oh what a fine time it is for fashion enthusiasts to be alive!
As if Dior hasn’t won our hearts already, the luxury House is now opening a new four-level boutique in London, particularly in Mayfair’s most famous New Bond Street. Set to open on the third of June, the House of Dior Boutique seems to be stirring up quite the excitement as it solely relies on diversity by bringing together different creations in a single location.
The fashion haven located at 160-162 New Bond Street, is none other than Peter Marino’s diligent work, who tastefully modelled the store as a Parisian Hotel Particulier, where Christian Dior’s French roots meet posh British traditions. It’s as if the famed architect worked closely on creating an exceptional atmosphere based on tradition and abstraction, painting the canvas of a French-inspired masterpiece. A slew of motifs and colors come together to portray the controversy, while silk carpets invade the stone interior ever-so eloquently. The architect himself has had a boisterous past in the fashion scene, as he had already received many awards for his exceptional work all around the globe and has also been honored as a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture.
Many artists will be displaying their artistic works in this Dior temple, from Tony Cragg to Rado Kirov. Regarded as UK’s largest boutique, the store will bring together the house’s finest selection, from ready-to-wear and accessories, to jewelry, timepieces, Baby Dior and children’s wear. A Dior Homme space on the lower level will be providing a pioneering sur-mesure service in the country, adding a little je ne sais quoi to its already-established ingenuity. But the best part of it all might just be the fact that private shoppers will be granted with three VIP salons, fulfilling their wildest-Dior-dreams! Customers will also revel in a perfume area where Dior’s most exclusive creation will be displayed, alongside the Collection Privée Christian Dior.
The boutique will also be home to and exclusive Dior HOME collection, featuring a selection of teas and a collection of gold-couture-embellished crystal glassware. A riot of limited-edition creations specially produced by friends of the House, artists and designers will also be on display and will continuously introduce emerging collaborations over time.
Bringing together an eclectic mix of styles, the groundbreaking boutique will also be unveiling a limited-edition selection of iconic Lady Dior bags, and will also be introducing Marc Quinn’s irreverent taste in a series of small leather accessories, intricately embellished with floral prints.
Well, we can’t but applaud the gusto in which Dior approaches life, bringing a little French frivolity to London’s Mayfair.
