4 Things You Should Eat Before Working Out

Summer is just around the corner and exercising is the best option to get fit and beach-ready. We all know that working out calls for a high level of energy. The food you eat before exercising can gear you up and make your gym session even more effective.

Balancing between carbohydrates, protein and fluids is the best you can do in this case. Therefore, below is a list of the food you should consume to energize your work out.

1 – Bananas are loaded with digestible carbohydrates and potassium, which helps maintain nerve and muscle function.

2 – Oats are packed with fiber, which means that they gradually release carbohydrates in your body to keep your energy levels consistent during your workout.

3 – A slice of wholegrain bread is considered a good source of carbohydrates. You can top it off with jam, honey, sliced boiled eggs or a couple slices of turkey.

4 – Fruits and yogurt are a great high mix of carbohydrates and protein. The first is provided by the fruit and break down quickly, while the second comes from the yogurt and prevents muscle damage.

Tip: Avoid eating raw sugar or candy before working out to avoid a sugar rush or a crash. Also don’t overeat before exercising and opt for a snack, not a meal, in order to prevent indigestion.
