Lladró’s Hairstyle Collection By Shimizu

Anyone who acknowledges the world of art knows that collaboration between the Spanish luxury brand Lladró and the Japanese designer Hisakazu Shimizu is a match made in heaven.

Because really, what could be better than bringing together both a value-directed brand and the ingenuity of S&O Design’s president? The new collaboration has brought life to a series of lamps, inspired by historical Japanese characters and most importantly, their eccentric hairstyles. Shimizu explained that there’s much more to the hairstyles than meets the eye, as they also represent the characters who wear them. Perhaps the best part of this collaboration might just be the black and white porcelain with a gloss finish and Murano glass lampshades inspired by the “Sandogasa”, a wide traditional straw travelling hat, worn in medieval Japan

And in what remains the most special endeavor of this collection, the lampshades are handmade with layers of blown glass while the rounded base is smoothly made in satin black lacquered wood, with a golden plaque and Lladró’s flower logo.
