Once again, Christian Dior’s former and most cherished house is opening its doors as part of the House of Dior restoration project. The renovated interior design stays truthful to the one achieved by Christian Dior himself, while the reconstructed garden revives the Eden that he had created.
Le Château de la Colle Noire is located in Montauroux, at the heart of Grasse. Seeking refuge during the occupation, the celebrated French designer became attached to this region which was a quintessential source of inspiration for his most beautiful perfumes. In 1951, he became the landlord of this breathtaking place surrounded by a vast land fit for cultivation and renovated it according to his Provençal dream. The garden brought him back the memories of his childhood at Granville with its flowers and forty-meter long ornamental pond. Today, the interior décor of the Château is renovated and the garden comes back to life by the replantation of Christian Dior’s favorite flowers as a tribute to his love of nature.
For the opening, an event was held in the presence of Mr. Bernard Arnault and Mr. Claude Martinez, President and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, as well as Charlize Theron, the face of J’adore perfume since 2004. More than 250 guests were in attendance, including producer and TV host Diala Makki, director of the National Paris Opera Ballet Aurélie Dupont, top model Bella Hadid, French actor Pierre Niney, actress and model Aymeline Valade, director Jean-Baptiste Mondino and singer Fai Khadra, as an exceptional dinner inspired by Christian Dior’s favorite recipes was served.
