The complex relationship between art and fashion is depicted in a new exhibition by Fondazione Ferragamo and Museo Salvatore Ferragamo. Opening on May 18th, it captures the life of Salvatore Ferragamo, the founder of the house who was amazed by the twentieth century’s avant-garde art movement and joined forces with many artists of this time.

This exhibition presents an analysis of the way these two fields interact, in addition to showcasing the places artists used to meet and study in the fifties and sixties and the birth of celebrity culture. Moving onwards, this project also explores art during the nineties and defines the relation between the two worlds today.

Held in collaboration with many cultural institutions and museums, the exhibition puts on display clothing, accessories, fabrics, works of art, books, periodicals and photographs from international and Italian museums, as well as a contemporary installation created specifically for this occasion – making it the perfect place for everyone to enjoy in their own way and according to their own interest.
