With its rolling hills, palm trees and ocean views Los Angeles is one of the most picturesque places in the world—with arguably the best weather to top it off. Known for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood; we’ve all grown up with images of movies and TV shows planted in our memory. What a lot of people don’t expect when arriving in Los Angeles, however, is how huge it is—with a population that is the second largest in the United States, just after New York City. As a result, it can be difficult to get around if you don’t know people in the know. Luckily, our fashion editor is currently in the city of angels and has given us her insider’s guide to all things Los Angeles.
 
Los Angeles has many facets. It consists of clusters of small towns, each with its own distinct character. Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and Brentwood are the center of affluent society. Take time to drive along the steep turns on and around Sunset Boulevard, Mulholland Drive and Benedict Canyon for some of the most incredible homes in the world. Head west and take a drive along PCH to Zuma Beach for one of the most captivating views of the California coast and stop in Malibu for lunch at Geoffrey’s. Many affluent Los Angelenos—artists, architects and tech industry visionaries—who are liberal and bohemian at heart open their studios and homes in Santa Monica and Venice areas. Have dinner at Gjelina’s and take a walk on Abbot Kinney and pop into any pub for a drink. Trendy North Hollywood, Los Feliz and Silver Lake areas are known for their historic pricey homes and old Hollywood history; today those areas are the hub of hip celebrity inhabitants like Chloë Sevigny. It is a must to drive around the amazing narrow hillside roads to see a more historic side of Los Angeles that many often miss. Then, make a stop at Griffith Park Observatory for views from Downtown Los Angeles to The Pacific Ocean.
