Arab Fashion Week in Dubai, Take Two

Nothing quite like an Arab Fashion Week to spice up the fashion scene. Indeed the Arab Fashion Council announced during a press conference, the second edition of this trendy four-day event, conducted at the St. Regis Hotel gardens on Sheikh Zayed Road.

From the 16th to the 19th of March, the Arab world will witness yet another moment in history where culture meets emerging designers. The structure of the modernistic venue will be directly imported from Milan, attesting to the glory of the event.

Main member of the Arab Fashion Council completed the conference, such as CEO Jacob Abrian, Chief PR Officer Dr. Raffaella Carnevale and Chief Strategy Officer Ilham Abbas. Creating an international platform for emerging designers, this event will introduce Fall/Winter 2016-2017 Ready-Couture collections of exclusive designers as well as international designers.This edition will put into sight many reformative steps, including the use of eco-sustainable resources to design collections and the launch of an independent Kidswear show on the 16th of March at 4pm at The Dubai Mall bringing forward several famed Italian brands.

The Arab Fashion Council is proud to have started achieving some of its milestones. A main part of the council’s vision for 2021 is to define the shape of the fashion industry in the Arab region and to strongly accentuate the presence of Arab Fashion on the international map to join the existing global fashion infrastructure.” Stated H.E Cavaliere Mario Boselli, Honorary President of the Arab Fashion Council and the National Chamber of Italian Fashion.

The four-day event will end with an awards gala dinner on the 19th of March, gathering designers, models, VIPs, international media and fashion influencers. A rewarding ceremony will take place for the first time ever, named “The Fashion trophy”. Ten of the most talented designers will relish in 21-carat gold plated trophies, celebrating their hard and harnessed work. It will be a glamourous and charitable event whose effect will do wonders to both the fashion industry and important causes.

Commenting on the event, CEO if the Arab Fashion Council Jacob Abrian said “The fashion industry in Italy alone for instance generates 74 billion euros. Consumers’ needs are constantly shifting towards the conception of new style, represented by the Ready-Couture, which is a functional compromise between a sellable product and high-end fashion”.
