“Signs of the Times”, a Literary Tribute to Ferdinand Adolphe Lange

After all the books that have been written about Ferdinand Adolphe Lange’s accomplishments, no author but Christoph Scheuring has written about his first years in life in his historical novel “Signs of the Times”.

After his rough father left the family, Lange grew up with foster parents who encouraged his ambitions and allowed him to study at the newly founded Royal Technical College – which is now known as the University of Dresden. Scheuring found in this true story the perfect subject for his book.

The Hamburg-based writer and award-winning journalist pays tribute to Lange’s exceptional personality through this interesting historic novel. Released by Hoffmann & Camp publishing house, the book allows you to better understand the story through insights into the society, its scientific milestones and philosophical trends from that era.
