The Dubai Mall Hosts Le Théâtre Dior

From November 9th to November 24th, Dior will bring Le Théâtre Dior to the Dubai Mall. Held at the Fashion Catwalk Atrium, the exhibition retraces the vision of legendary couturier Christian Dior and the journey of this unique couture house from 1947 to the present, by showcasing more than sixty dresses produced with their finest details as small-scale replicas of iconic creations.

The house’s silhouettes are instantly recognizable through their highly structured shapes and ultra feminine feel, making them exceptional pieces coveted by stars and royalty. For the house’s founder, femininity is eternal and is the key to women’s happiness, as it makes them feel and look more beautiful than anyone could imagine.

Le Théâtre Dior exhibition gives its visitors the opportunity to discover and admire the beauty of Dior’s couture designs and allows them to understand the influences and worlds cherished by Christian Dior through a series of theme-based sets. The exhibition also features creations designed by Christian Dior himself, as well as his successors Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano and Raf Simons.

The show opens with the “New Look” and presents the iconic Bar suit with a sneak-peek on its influence, past and present. Then the “Dior Allure” follows to give visitors an insight into the iconic lines and the evolution of the Dior silhouette. Evoking Christian Dior’s love of flowers, the “Dior Garden” includes the lily-of-the-valley and the rose that constantly inspired him.

Moving forward, “Miss Dior” unveils a legendary dress that was created in conjunction with the very first eponymous perfume, as well as Raf Simons’ fresh re-interpretation of this iconic piece.  The couturier’s color palette is showcased in “From Pink to Red”, reflecting the feminine evolution from young girl to woman.

Eight Dior creations and the iconic Lady Dior handbag are featured in “Paris” and tell the story of the all-time elegant Parisian woman, while “The Dior Ateliers” captures the process of an Haute Couture dress creation.

Le Théâtre Dior exhibition also evokes the secret side to the life of Queen Marie Antoinette in “Versailles: the Trianon” and pays tribute to Dior’s love of gold in “J’Adore”. While the “Grand Dior Bal” depicts the fairy-tale enchantment that inspired Christian Dior’s dreams of turning every woman into a princess, “Stars in Dior” recounts the links between famous stars and the house of Dior. From Elizabeth Taylor and Lady Diana to Jennifer Lawrence, the style of these great actresses reached unparalleled heights thanks to the house’s one-of-a-kind creations.
