Bottega Veneta’s Knot Eau Florale Is a Fresh Delight

To produce the brand’s Knot Eau Florale fragrance, Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Tomas Maier must have been inspired by a villa on the Italian Riviera, where the saltwater breeze, the scent of peonies and clementine trees invade the senses.

Continuing his collaboration with master perfumer Daniela Andrier, this perfume is a delicate floral scent that features notes of Rose and Peony combined with a soft touch of musk. The fragrance’s Mediterranean spirit resides in touches of mandarin, neroli and lavender, as well as the earthy scent of cedar wood and Tonka beans.

“I wanted the fragrance to capture an awakening of the senses though an escape to the garden,” says Maier. “It is these quiet moments of respite that I believe are the ultimate luxury.”

Inspired by Venetian glasswork and traditional Italian carafes, the Knot Eau Florale bottle features the rounded curves and clean lines of the signature Knot flacon. This time, it comes in pale, frosted glass while the gold and knot-shaped cap recalls the clasp of Bottega Veneta’s Knot clutch.

Staying faithful to Bottega Veneta’s tradition of creative collaboration, Maier chose American fine art photographer David Armstrong to capture the soft floral fragrance and who better than model Julia Nobis to represent it in an image that reflects the photographer’s intimate and sophisticated approach.
