This week, Bulgari opens a new chapter in fighting AIDS and announces the partnership of The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) with other organizations in order to achieve the UNAIDS “90-90-90” target in Mulanje District – Malawi.

Paying tribute to the initiative that aims at fast-tracking the end of AIDS by 2030, the Italian jewelry house sponsored an exclusive cocktail held at London’s Getty Images Gallery on October 12th. The cocktail was co-hosted by actor and ETAF Ambassador Colin Farrell and closed by singer and UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador Annie Lenox.

The Getty Images Gallery is also hosting an exhibition entitled ‘Grit and Glamour’. Showcasing 50 photographs, the exhibition was inaugurated on October 9th and will be running until November 7th to mark the 30th anniversary of Elizabeth Taylor’s commitment to fighting AIDS. ‘Grit and Glamour’ is set to make a global tour, while the limited-edition prints’ sales will benefit The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

The pictures on display feature an iconic shot in 1964 when Elizabeth Taylor married Richard Burton. The only jewelry piece she was wearing was the Bulgari emerald and diamond brooch her partner gave her in Rome when they fell in love on the set of “Cleopatra”.

With the Bulgari boutique in Via Condotti being the favorite hide-out for the couple, the actress built a life-long relationship with the brand and Bulgari wanted to commemorate the cherished woman who was well-known and admired for her humanitarian activism.
