While dogs might be man’s best friend, shoes are women’s closest confidant.  We wear them every day and dream of them every night. They sometimes also become our biggest nightmare, especially when they leave us broke. You see, women love their shoes, but beautiful shoes come at a price.   

The world’s most expensive shoes cost $3 million. Designed by American luxury jeweler Harry Winston, “Ruby Slippers” are based on Dorothy’s slippers from The Wizard of Oz. While their price tag is high (to say the least), it did take two months to fashion the slippers, which are embellished with 1,350 carats of rubies, as well as 50 carats of diamonds. What also makes them so unique is the fact that they’ve only been worn once, by one woman: Judy Garland, the actress who played Dorothy.
