Iwan Maktabi and de Gournay brought 2 worlds of art together with their creative collaboration and the event they held on the occasion says it all. The Iwan Maktabi flagship store in Beirut was transformed into a stunning showcase of art and culture by virtue of this unique partnership that celebrates the rich heritage of the Mughal Collection through bespoke wallcoverings and centuries-old carpets.

The event showcased two icons in de Gournay’s wallcoverings: Mahal Garden and Dandaka Glades. In fact, the collaboration was born during an opportune visit to Iwan Maktabi’s showroom, where the team at de Gournay discovered a set of antique Mughal carpets that inspired them. As a result, they merged this artistry by selecting two designs to blend with the carpets’ vibrant colorways and the artisans then hand-painted these shades into the wallcoverings, presenting them under a new lens.
