Cartier at Watches & Wonders 2024

Even though Cartier is known for excelling in many fields, watchmaking has definitely its own perks.

Even though Cartier is known for excelling in many fields, watchmaking has definitely its own perks. From the aesthetics to the technicalities and the stories behind every piece, we’re always thrilled to discover the House’s novelties. Watches & Wonders 2024 in Geneva is no exception, as the revealed creations certainly blew our minds.

Charismatic and untameable, the emblematic animals of Cartier's menagerie have been present in its watchmaking since 1914, the year in which the panther's coat first appeared on a watch case. On this occasion, the Cartier Animal Jewelry Watches welcomed new marvels, one of which is born from a meeting of the zebra and crocodile. It is simultaneously graphic and organic, with each stripe lacquered by hand, and its silhouette of an imaginary creature encircles a diamond-shaped dial.

The Reflection de Cartier watches come with tension that culminates as a delicate dial meets its reflection, where time appears to move backward. This creation that pushes boundaries is available in several versions: yellow and rose gold, one in diamond-set white gold, and two in white gold paved with colored stones. The one fully in white explores material through its paving combinations with a case and bracelet set with diamonds, a sandblasted silvered dial, and rhodium-finish steel sword-shaped hands.

The Tortue watch was born in 1912 from a powerful creative vision, namely to create a dialogue between curves and taut lines. The new edition, faithful to the original design, has been subtly reworked unveiling horns stretched along the strap and a slimmer profile – the manual-winding 430 MC movement is one of the thinnest movements by Cartier – and offering apple-shaped hands and a rail track that follows the iconic shape of the watch around the hour markers, making the dial even easier to read.
