First created by Jean Schlumberger in 1965, the designer’s signature bird, perched on a gemstone, is evolving once again into a suite of exquisite creations set with natural saltwater pearls from the Gulf region. It graces us with its beauty today through a new Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Pearl high jewelry capsule collection. Prized for their size, shape, and unrivaled luster – from Mr. Hussein Al Fardan’s private collection, the acquired pearls make a remarkable difference. This latest expression of Bird on a Pearl is an ode to the designer’s love of nature unraveled through a gradient color palette within each pearl that evokes the four seasons, the themes of sweetheart ivy leaves, acorns, wings, and oak leaves.
For this exclusive collection – including a brooch that draws inspiration from the acorn motif expressed in archival Jean Schlumberger designs, the Bird on a Pearl necklace, and five bird motifs that flutter around the strand of exceptional pearls, Mr. Hussein Al Fardan opened his doors to Tiffany & Co. for the second year to curate the exceedingly rare pearls.
