On an epic journey through eons, the most exceptional stones narrate the story of the new Louis Vuitton High Jewelry collection. “Deep Time” marks the 5th collection that Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director for Watches and Jewelry, designs for the House. It’s an ultimate and profound voyage that links the birth of the planet to the creation of life through Louis Vuitton’s singular, original design signature and high jewelry savoir-faire, as they fuse with the origins of geology and geological legacy that are at the heart of jewelry and gemstones.
As we take a closer look at what the marvels of this collection have to offer, we lose track of all the details to admire. As jewels that are increasingly rare and versatile, with many designed to be worn in multiple ways and advanced in LV custom-cuts, we were dazzled with the medallion-style necklace that can be transformable into a brooch, the super rare layout of exclusively no-oil Colombian emeralds, the waves of diamonds, the strand of white gold beads, the rich red rubies, and every other singularity that added to the collection’s extraordinary character.
In fact, it’s Louis Vuitton’s largest High Jewelry collection to date, featuring over 170 unique pieces – including 95 in this first chapter alone – and a record number of precious stones. We are eagerly waiting for the second chapter to be revealed later on as well. In short, Deep Time is explored through two acts – geology and life – and encompasses a total of 16 themes, 13 of which are presented in the collection’s debut.
