The Parisian woman was clearly on Virginie Viard’s mind when she designed CHANEL’s Haute Couture collection for Fall/Winter 2023-2024. This collection revolving around contrasts and balance finds its inspiration in her sensitivity and boldness, singular charm, and taste in subverting academicism, as well as blending between what is so often separated, classified and hierarchized for the sake of convenience.

With this in mind, she reimagined her wardrobe in an exquisite Haute Couture feel. Tweeds, silk chiffons, organza and inlaid lace mingled, as well as floral and graphic motifs, to truly embody the effervescence of a rich and feminine creative universe. On the banks of the Seine, a world of images, emotions, permanence and beauty came to life, as models trotted down the runway in long, masculine-inspired overcoats, diaphanous blouses belted over flat-pleated golden tweed skirts, precious vest tops, pin-striped trousers and men's waistcoats, a long black chiffon dress of infinite lightness, painted eyewear and two-tone Mary-Janes.

In the dreamiest of ways, the collection played with the codes of the French house, rigor and asymmetry, discreet colors and vibrant shades, assurance and discretion, offering the CHANEL woman a reminder to do things her own way and being free to express her emotions through a sophisticated take on fashion.
