It takes every bit of attention to details to perfect a bridal look, and as your big day gets closer, it is always necessary to keep some golden rules in mind. When it comes to makeup, we know of course that you won’t be the one doing yours, but your input is always valuable to look yourself on the most important day of your life. So, as always, we will remind you of some details to think of and take into consideration.
- Drink a lot of water before your big day. Although this is a tip to live by all year long, it will help your skin stay hydrated and your makeup application better.
- Moisturize your skin before self-tanning. If you wish to look tanned on your wedding and self-tanning is your solution of choice, apply moisturizer on problem areas that tend to look darker such as elbows, knees, hands, feet and any severely dry areas.
- Use a teeth whitener. That’s another detail to take care of before your big day. Remember, your smile is a big part of your look on this day!
- Run a makeup trial. Even if the makeup artist is one who you’re used to, a makeup trial is important to make sure you look well on your big day.
- When running your makeup trial, take into consideration the season in which your wedding will take place. If it’s a winter wedding you’re preparing for, you should make sure your foundation won’t look too dry and if your wedding is taking place during summer, make sure it doesn’t make your face look too shiny.
- Pick the most perfectly matching foundation. This is a detail to take into consideration in any makeup you do. The last thing you want on this special day is for your face to look like it belongs to another body.
- Choose a lipstick with a natural color. Your lipstick shouldn’t be too brown or too pink, and should stay on your lips all day long. So, visit the makeup counter and pick the one that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable at the same time before the big day comes.
- Balance your look. Like in ordinary days, your look should be balanced. If you’re going big with the eyes, balance them out with natural lips. Some brides would love a bold pout and to balance things out, go light on eyes.
- Go for waterproof products. Whether you’re having a winter wedding or a summer one, waterproof products will help your makeup stay in place.
- On your wedding day, keep a few products on hand. Well, there is nothing wrong with keeping your lipstick with you for a touch-up now and then, and some blotting papers to remove the unwanted shine throughout the day!
