Instead of designing a wardrobe for the Saint Laurent woman, Anthony Vaccarello created a collection infused with the essence of classic Saint Laurent style – which combines precision, emotion, and reticence, paired with his own aesthetic codes that perfectly reflect the present.

The result was a modern take on the tailleur-jupe and a new bold blazer with a sharp shoulder line that truly embodies precision. Fabric dictated the rest, as the structured jacket was juxtaposed with a flowing layer of cloth represented by a signature scarf that was merged at times with the bow of a blouse or extended down like a stole at others. The element of emotion took form in gender-exclusive pieces such as the blazer, a leather bomber jacket, and a sharply cut tank top, that seemed to pave their way into a woman’s wardrobe come next winter, in addition to motifs that once belonged to masculine fashion dictionaries like pinstripes, tartans and glen plaids. As for reticence, it was evident in the alternating interplay of transparent and opaque seen through pieces in chiffon, crepe-de-chine, and mousseline, as well as sheer stockings.

While this may seem as an ordinary collection, the Saint Laurent woman has a philosophy to live by: she is confident, timeless, luxurious and most importantly, free to expose or conceal her body as her mood suggests. And on an evening occasion, she never fails to express her modern ease through an evening look featuring slim cashmere pants, always à la Saint Laurent.
