Despite the difficult conditions affecting the country, Mourjjan held its FW23/24 fashion show in the city of Beirut, Lebanon at the magnificent “de Gournay” showroom. After years of estrangement from designers, the Lebanese Zurich-based label had the courage to light up the sad sky of Beirut with its remarkable «Stargazing» collection produced in close collaboration with «Mode Suisse» - Yannick Aellen. As its name suggests, on one hand, the collection was inspired by the desert’s night sky, sand, and dunes, all printed on luxurious Italian silk fabrics from Como, Italy. On the other hand, it pays homage to the diverse ecosystems of the desert, with prints and patterns inspired by people’s love for stargazing. It also captures the serene simplicity of life in the wilderness, especially through its color palette drawn from the sunsets, sunrises and starry night skies that turned into earth tones and shimmering fabrics.

With Textile Designer Michael Muntinga creating a series of printed fabrics for this collection, and the contract Mourjjan signed with Dubai-based fashion agency MOKSYZ earlier this year to take the brand to the Middle East, this is just the beginning. The collection will even grace Paris with its presence, as Mourjjan will present it at their showroom on 8 and 9 March at Hotel Kimpton St Honoré.
