As Milan Fashion Week continues to take the world by storm, the Deposito at Fondazione Prada, Milan got its share of charm. That’s where Prada turned heads with the reveal of its Fall/Winter 2023 collection designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. The two artists re-conceptualized, reconsidered, and ultimately rediscovered ideas of beauty through the creations. However, they did not talk about beauty determined by aesthetics but by action, as they turned garments into signs and representations of the beauty of care, love and reality. The collection witnessed another exchange, one between the notion of the everyday and occasion wear, the familiar and the exceptional, giving a different importance to each. One of the reflections of this exchange was when wedding dresses, one of the symbols of love, became an everyday attire, and their skirts paired with sweaters as a new form of quotidian dress.
Black, white, grey, and beige – among other subtle colors – were pierced with a touch of pastels and a fiery orange – to name a few. Accessories in turn took part in this color play, especially the remarkable shoes that varied in numerous shades.
