For its Spring-Summer 2023 advertising campaign, the new Unboxing Valentino collection campaign, Maison Valentino conveyed its message through the lens of Steven Meisel, one of the fashion industry’s most iconic photographers. In fact, the campaign was even inspired by the renowned editorial ‘The Group’ shot by Meisel himself for Vogue Italia in 1999. It shows how Pierpaolo Piccioli opens to all individuals by embracing their diverse personalities, desires and imperfections, as fashion needs to be molded by humanity and invaded by reality.
Narrating a choral and powerful story through each individual of the campaign, we witnessed an unboxing of roles, desires, imperfections and identities, thus reflecting a generation free to dare. The campaign is the portrait of a moment, of a new generation, of fashion, of freedom of expression, and of the power of beauty.
