Through its Spring-Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection, Miu Miu worked on a translation project from within the fashion world. The House explained through its marvels how fashion allows you to translate a reaction to reality into material form and turn your feelings into beautiful results and that itself is part of real life, as it has a purpose other than dressing the body which is expressing broader feelings, larger themes, around the individual and culture. For example, pockets are an expression of utility used across different garments, thus transgressing boundaries between decoration and function. Miu Miu also showed how fashion’s use isn’t only physical but psychological as well because it can affect emotions that can be beautifully expressed through colors and materials.
Marking a continuum of the previous two seasons, and in collaboration with the artist Shuang Li, Miuccia Prada had a lot to convey through this collection; just like in words, every concept, in its translation, mutates to take on a new form, a different truth in fashion.
