Dior has always done things in its very own way and celebrating Sotheby’s sale of works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne set to take place on November 3 in Paris is no exception. On this occasion, Dior’s 30 Montaigne Boutique will preview until October 9 more than 20 exceptional sculptures from the collection of their daughter, Dorothée Lalanne.

Once a gallery owner and art collector, Monsieur Dior met the Lalanne couple in 1957 – which started a story that sees their name unite with that of the House. After commissioning to them the décor of the Avenue Montaigne boutique, Claude Lalanne created in 2007 a decorative body of work for the emblematic addresses of Dior. This was far from being the end, as Maria Grazia Chiuri invited Claude Lalanne to design the jewelry of Dior’s Spring-Summer 2017 Haute Couture collection, while the House curated in 2021 the large-scale exhibition “Les Lalanne à Trianon” in the gardens of the Château de Versailles. And with this preview at the iconic address, the story continues to be driven by creative passion.
