As women who like perfection, we are on a continuous quest for the perfect makeup base that will render our complexion flawless while looking like a second skin. Well, relax, as you’re not in this alone. Let us give you a few tips that will address this need in the simplest of ways.

  • Use your skincare as a base. There’s quite a good reason for that! While your skincare products perfectly address your skin’s concerns, they will be the ideal base for your foundation.
  • Just like your skincare, your foundation should also be fit for your skin type. If it’s too oily, pick a mattifying foundation, and if it’s too dry, pick one that provides your skin with a healthy glow.
  • Use a brush to apply your foundation. In fact, nothing like a good brush will evenly distribute the product on your skin and make it look like a second one, only more perfect.
  • Work your foundation inside out. This will help you avoid the appearance of streaks and lift up your face’s look.
  • Choose the right texture of concealer. Well, needless to say, the concealer’s coverage should be able to hide the dark circles around your eyes, as well as any other imperfection you would like to hide on your face.
  • Apply your concealer with a brush. Just like foundation, only a brush can perfectly hide imperfections with an even and light layer.
  • Opt for creamy blush, bronzer and highlighter. Creamy textures work best when trying to create a flawless and light makeup base, as they blend really well with the base underneath them without creating a cakey effect.
  • The highlighter should be applied only where necessary, as excessive application can result in an oily skin look – which is far away from being flawless. So, using a highlighter brush, just apply a stroke on the highest point of your cheek, on the bridge of your nose and if you’d like, on your jawline for a dewy look.
  • The same goes for the setting powder. If you’ve got an oily T zone, just apply it on the areas that can get oily. This will help you avoid having a cakey look.
  • Last but not least, a flawless makeup base is one that lasts and that’s what setting sprays are for!
