Yes, it’s that time of the year again when all your life turns upside down due to the weather change. Everything from your wardrobe to your beauty routines get their share of the big makeover, and your skincare routine is definitely a part of the equation. We all know that during fall, the temperature starts to cool off, preparing for the cooler winter weather. Therefore, your skin needs the chance to get acclimated to this change and you should help it. How? Here are a few helpful tips to transition from hot summer days to cool winter months with a healthy skin!

-Never give up exfoliation. This procedure rids your skin of dry, dead cells that make it look dull and stimulates blood circulation to keep your skin as radiant as ever. Once per week in more than enough, don’t exaggerate!

-Opt for a mild cleanser. During the colder months of fall and winter, your skin gets less oily, and this cleanser switch will help it preserve its natural oil barrier. This way, you avoid drying it out.

-Use lukewarm water to wash your face. Yes, speaking of cleanser, the temperature of the water you use to wash your face also affects your skin’s moisture. So, keep your showers short and only use lukewarm water.  

-Choose a thicker face cream. Since your skin gets dryer during this season, here’s a great way to increase its level of moisture: choose a heavier face cream, and better yet, one with a natural source of ceramides to prevent moisture loss.  

-Never stop using SPF. Always remember that during the colder months, UVA rays are as strong as during the summer so it’s important to keep your skin protected.

-Drink water. Indeed, we will never stop reminding you of that because it keeps your skin hydrated!

-Include face oils in your routine. This applies for those with a very dry skin. To stay on the safe side, consult your dermatologist about this matter to avoid making things worse.
