As promised, Cartier and Expo 2020 Dubai celebrated International Women’s Day in a special way at the Women’s Pavilion. Two inspiring events marked this special day under the theme “Break the Bias” through which women’s significant contributions to society were celebrated and barriers that still keep us from achieving gender equality were highlighted. “Break the Bias Forum” and “Al Wasl Dome Ceremony” included a series of talks welcoming Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Sheryl Sandberg and Dr. Natalia Kanem in attendance of representatives from governments, corporations, and change-makers from around the world.     

The aim was to promote positive attitudes and beliefs about women's rights and equality, and we can definitely say it was successfully and beautifully reached as the audience was left with a message of hope that a more gender-equal world is within reach but of course, requires collective action.
