Art Deco permeates Saint Laurent’s winter 2022 collection with a radical elan. Anthony Vaccarello was inspired by Nancy Cunard, the independent-minded activist publisher, and by her audacious fashion choices drown from the masculine wardrobe as they were ahead of her time. He took her style as a guiding template and modernized it through signature Saint Laurent pieces with a dramatic new shape enveloping a long fluid line underneath; hence we got ourselves a remarkable number of pieces to rock next winter – we’re looking at you Saint Laurent tuxedos with your slouchier new look.
Black reigned over a mainly dark and matte color palette lit occasionally with white and a classy shimmer, completed with stacks of bracelets cast in silver, gold and bronze that instantly turned heads. And with the fanciest materials, especially those of the form-fitting dresses, craftsmanship and creativity were taken to unprecedented levels of excellence.
